SEABOROUGH handler Harry Fry insists charge Zulu Oscar “is clearly going the right way” after winning both his completed starts over hurdles.

The six-year-old, which Fry admitted is “the most fragile horse in the yard” extinguished memories of his fall at the final obstacle at Doncaster a month previously, by scooping the William Hill World Darts Championship Handicap Hurdle at Kempton.

The 5-1 shot, with jockey Noel Fehily on board, got home by a length from the heavily fancied Affaire D’honneur and 7-2 favourite Two Taffs, who finished third under the guidance of Harry Skelton.

Speaking about Zulu Oscar, Fry told his official website: “Although I made an entry for him I wasn’t really planning to run him until it became clear that the ground at the track was probably going to be the best we could find for him in the next few weeks.

“Zulu Oscar is clearly going the right way which makes it so frustrating that he is the most fragile horse in the yard.

“Long term planning is out of the question as we have to take each day as it comes for him.

“In the meanwhile, we will try to keep him in one piece and look for another suitable race for him when the ground starts to dry out.”
