FOUR goals and three points against Hallen gave Bridport a much-needed shot in the arm as they head into the busy festive period.

The Bees, who go to Bradford Town on Saturday (3pm), came from 2-0 down at St Mary’s Field last weekend to beat the Armadillos 4-3 and end a run of five games without a win.

“I said to the lads before the game that we hadn’t been playing badly, we just had to make sure that we took our chances, and in the second half we did,” said boss Trevor Senior.

“We showed a lot of character to come back from 2-0 down.”

Hallen’s Kevin Camargo scrambled home a corner after just eight minutes and Tom Collett then doubled his side’s advantage.

The hosts halved the deficit when Warren Byerley’s strike hit both posts and Jamie Beasley buried the rebound. Buoyed by the goal, the Bees kept plugging away and Matt Condliffe’s introduction from the bench was to prove vital.

Condliffe set up Mark Salter for his first goal for the club, and Beasley played a big part in Bridport’s third as his strike flew in off a defender.

But the former Weymouth and Dorchester Town man was not done there and he got his second to wrap things up for the Bees.

They did concede late on when Isaac Reid registered for the away side but Senior, who was also celebrating his birthday over the weekend, was thankful for the present of three priceless points.
