BRIDPORT go into their first game of 2015 without Chris Senior and Jamie Symes, while there are doubts over the fitness of both Sean Stewart and Chris Clarke.

Bees’ boss Trevor Senior is also without the injured Ryan Dovell for the visit of Brislington to St Mary’s Field this Saturday (3pm), as the hosts take on a side that thrashed Bishop Sutton 11-0 on Boxing Day.

A 5-2 defeat to Street on the same day has left Bridport 11th in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division table, though they could climb up to sixth with three points this weekend.

Assessing his options ahead of the game, Senior said: “Ryan Dovell is still out injured with his knee, which doesn’t seem to be improving too much.

“Sean Stewart is going to be struggling after injuring his foot on Boxing Day and Chris Clarke will need a fitness test to see if his foot is okay.

“Chris Senior and Jamie Symes are both unavailable through work, so that could be as many as five out of the squad.

“But we’ve got lads like Alan Hill, who is back fit and been involved recently, and Rhys Hayter that will come into the squad.”

Brislington, third in the league five points behind leaders Bristol Manor Farm, have won two matches in a row but had lost their last eight in all competitions before that.

While they will be looking for a third successive victory, Brid-port are attempting to halt a two-game losing run and get the new year off to a winning start.

“We drew 0-0 with Brislington earlier in the season and they are a decent side,” added Senior.

“I wouldn’t say they were better than us on the day, though 0-0 was about right.

“They are always pretty strong but we’ll give it a good go against them and look to get back to winning ways. We need to be sharper than we were against Street and defend better as a team.”

A first-half Matt Morley strike and a late consolation for youngster Rhys Hayter was all the Bees had to show from a disappointing performance against Street.

After Chris Senior’s misplaced back pass had found his own net, Thomas Hill made it 2-0 to the visitors on 15 minutes.

Morley then finished well from 25 yards, but the hosts conceded twice more before the break, Dale Hunt and Harry Baker providing a hammer blow to Bridport’s hopes.

Baker was on hand once more to make it 5-1 before Hayter, who replaced Tom Richardson, got Bridport’s second when Shane Evans’ shot clipped his heel and ricocheted into the roof of the net.
