LYME Regis schoolgirl Mollie Hansford has been selected to represent the Great Britain tetrathlon team to compete in Perth, Western Australia this July.
This achievement comes after eight years of competing for her pony club, Cotley, in this demanding multi-discipline (pistol shooting, swimming, cross country running and riding) event.
The 17-year-old’s inclusion follows a year of excellent results and an intensive training week where athletes were put through their paces and faced interviews from the selection panel.
Hansford is the youngest competitor to be selected and is thrilled to be given such a wonderful opportunity.
The next few months are very busy for the teenager with revision for AS level exams at The Woodroffe School and a hectic daily training schedule, as well as fundraising for the trip.
