QUEEN Bees celebrated the past campaign with their annual presentation night at Symonds-bury Cricket Club pavilion.

For both teams, competing in the Somerset Under-14 and Under-16 league for the first time proved to be a rewarding new experience and improved both player and team development.

And after an enjoyable season the club handed out the annual awards.

For the younger age group, the prizes went to Charlotte Herbert (most improved), Carly Poole (manager’s player), Caitlin Corbett (players’ player) and Hannah Tarrant (player of the year).

Collecting the under-16 gongs were Alex Middleton (most improved), Issie Mullin (manager’s player) and Hannah Randal (players’ player and player of the year).

A raffle was also held, consisting a host of memorabilia prizes donated by professional clubs such as Southampton, Leeds United, Exeter City and Yeovil Town, thanks to the hard work of Sophie North-over, 14.

Next season, the under-16s will compete in the Dorset Women’s League and are looking for previous Queen Bees Ladies to sign on to provide necessary experience to compete at a higher level.

Training will commence during the second week of August
