Bridport cubs take First prize

FIRST Bridport were crowned champions at West Dorset Cub Scout’s annual district football competition.

This year’s showpiece took place on a glorious afternoon at Beaminster School, with six teams entering from Bride Valley, Bradford Abbas, Yet-minster, West Bay, Beaminster and First Bridport.

The games were played in great spirit and the tournament was well supported by friends and family.

Bridport ran out victorious with the team consisting of Kirsty Willats, Oliver Bareham, Lewis Acton, Zakjohn Ousley, Gabriel Stork, Tyler Heath, Ryan Tozer and Thomas Bird.

First Bridport scout leader Clare Sumner said: “We were delighted with the way the children played their matches with great determination and enthusiasm, and are very proud that they ended up the winners.”

The next district event to take place will be a swimming tourn- ament later this month.
