TWO of Beaminster School’s teams have triumphed in the South West Dorset Schools Championships, with both their Year Seven and Year 10 teams claiming honours.

Head of PE at Beaminster School, Mr James Wagstaff, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for such a small school competing against all the other schools in the area.

“I’m very proud of both our winning teams and we’re already looking forward to next year.”

HAVINGbeaten the likes of Dorchester Middle and Colfox School on their way to the final, the Beaminster pupils took on Budmouth School in the final at Weymouth’s Bob Lucas Stadium and secured a 2-1 victory thanks to George Calverly’s penalty and a precise finish from Lewis Keenan.

Wagstaff added: “This is the most talented and competitive team I have seen at Beaminster School and I’m really looking forward to more success in the years to come.”
