COLFOX schoolgirl Charlotte Johnson has had the honour of representing her country and tasting success in a tournament, as the young goalkeeper performed sensationally between the sticks for England in the prestigious Bob Docherty Trophy.

Staged this year at Repton School in Derbyshire, the trophy is currently competed for by under-15 girls selects representing Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales.

After England secured their first win comfortably against Wales with a 2-0 success, the second game against Scotland meant whoever emerged victorious would play the Republic of Ireland in the final of the competition.

As anticipated, the game was tight and ended 2-2 at full time and youngster Johnson stepped up to the plate in goal for the penalty shoot-out.

As per usual from 12 yards, England struggled and missed their first spot-kick, but Johnson was on hand and produced three stunning stops to deny the Scots and ensure her country made the final with a 4-3 shoot-out win.

In the final, England were comfortable 3-0 winners over the Irish and lifted the trophy for the first time in their history.
