BRIDPORT boss Trevor Senior has swooped to bring Matt Morley and Ashley Staines to St Mary’s Field.

Former favourite Darren Watts is also back at the club after missing last season due to work commitments.

Young playmaker Morley comes in from Weymouth while Staines, a left-sided defender, was previously with Hamworthy United.

All three men signed on the dotted line on Tuesday night when Morley and Staines took part in their first Bees training session.

Bridport returned to pre-season training last Thursday with around 25 players turning out, one of which was Watts.

The midfielder is able to commit himself more to the club next season following a change in his work schedule.

And while Senior is thrilled to have Watts back, he is also pleased to welcome Morley and Staines to the club.

“Matt is very quick and when you’ve got a bit of pace you’ve always got a chance of causing problems for other teams,” he said.

“We picked him out as a player we wanted to speak to over the summer.

“Ashley is based in Weymouth but is going to be moving to Yeovil soon.

“He works as a teacher at Thomas Hardye School and already knows the likes of Chris Luke and Adam Symes.”
