MAX Waller could once again play a part in Dorset’s Minor Counties summer next season.

The Somerset leg-spinner, who represented Dorset when they won the Minor Counties title in 2010, may once again join up with the Dorset squad should he be free from first-team commitments at Taunton.

And while nothing has been finalised between the two counties as of yet, with meetings still set to take place, Dorset skipper Chris Park is hopeful an agreement could be reached.

He told Echosport: “Possibly someone making themselves available is Max Waller.

“The Dorset connection is obviously there with him from the past.

“It’s looking likely that, when he hasn’t got any cricket, then he could be made available to us which is a win-win in that respect.”

Dorset are holding their second pre-season training sessions today, but are now expected to be without ex-Bournemouth all-rounder Mike Kitson, who has left the area.

“Mike Kitson has moved to Yorkshire,” Park added.

“He was a first-team player last year and a squad player.

“It’s one out of the pool of players we were looking at which is a bit of a shame. He actually had a very good first net session with us back in January.

“We wish him the best of luck.”
