DOUBLE DELIGHT: Champions George Skellern and Ludovic Blackburn
LUDOVIC Blackburn and George Skellern teamed up to win the men’s doubles tennis tournament in front of an enthusiastic crowd at Plottingham Fields.
In very windy conditions they beat last year’s champions but the much less experienced pair of Levi Gale and Sanjay Choudhury.
And Blackburn added the doubles’ crown to his recent win in the singles to cement his place as the club’s strongest player.
His partner Skellern had been fine tuning his skills in better weather in Spain the week before the tournament and it certainly paid off as he dominated the match with accurate groundstrokes to support his partner and win the final 6-3.
Club chairman Gerry Dudgeon and Alex Hill won the plate event after narrowly missing out on a semi-final place in the main draw.
