Treble for Blackburn

HAT-TRICK OF WINS: Ludovic Blackburn, right
CLUB captain Ludovic Blackburn won the Bridport Tennis Club men’s singles title for the third year in succession.
And in a repeat of last year’s final, the champion defeated runner-up Alex Wood 6-3 in a high quality match, played in ideal conditions at Pott-ingham Fields.
Blackburn, watched by members of his family, attributed his success to a consistent serve which got him into a position to hit his trademark forehand winners.
Earlier in the competition, Sanjay Choudhury and Levi Gale had also progressed from the round-robin format to the semi-finals, losing out to Wood and Black-burn in tight matches.
Despite landing his third triumph on the bounce, Blackburn told supporters he was unlikely to match the record 13 titles held by Alan Cash.
Blackburn is now eyeing victory in the men’s doubles on September 30.
