RELAY STARS: Salway Ash School pupils
SALWAY Ash School bagged a hat-trick in the Dorset Inter Schools Biathlon Relay Championships.
The West Dorset school, which only has 100 pupils, won three of the year/team events, which were held at the Osprey Leisure Centre, Portland.
The Year Four mixed team, of Megan Loibl, Jack Wyatt and Chloe Jefford, won first prize after running 300m and swimming 25m each.
Josh Frampton, George Wyrill and Callum Mullins, for the Year Six boys, bagged gold after running 400m and swimming 50m.
Salway Plasmas, for the Year Five boys, also took first place.
They were represented by Wyrill, Otto Harvey-Tkachuk and Harry Payne, who all ran 300m and swam 25m each.
Meanwhile, the Year Five Mixed Team finished third.
Henry Wyrill, who competed in two different teams as one youngster was too ill to take part, Jessica Herbert and Georgina Mackey were the team members.
Another Year Five boys’ team, named Salway Ash Sharks, took third place.
They were Sebastian Harvey-Tkachuk, John Marsh and Sam Clark.
Headmistress Lisa Crew said: “I am very proud of all the children and to have 14 competing from our school was great.
“Running conditions were hard with wind and rain for some of the competitors.
“We were the only school from the Beaminster, Bridport or Lyme pyramids to take part and one of the smallest schools in the competition.”
