WEYMOUTH RESERVES 1 Bridport RESERVES 2
MATT Condliffe bagged a brace as the Bees continued their quest for a top-six finish by beating Weymouth Reserves at the Bob Lucas Stadium.
The midfielder opened the scoring with the aid of a deflection before adding a second after the break with a sublime curler.
It appeared Bridport were in full control but after Ben Clarke had hit the crossbar in search of a third, the Terras fought back with substitute Rob Maxted cutting the deficit with 15 minutes remaining.
The hosts then pushed for an equaliser with Luke Winsper going close with a couple of free-kicks but in the end the Bees held on to move within four points of sixth-placed Chickerell United, who they entertain at St Mary’s Field on Saturday.
Joint-Bridport boss Steve Crabb said: “Due to the wind and the rain it was a scrappy game with very few clear-cut chances.
“We managed to go two up and at that stage I felt we were comfortable but they then got one back which changed the whole complexion of things.
“We had to hang on a bit at the end but to go there and get a win was very pleasing indeed particularly as they have clearly picked up of late.”
The victory has moved the Bees up to seventh in the Magna Dorset Premier League
