Bees are undone by set-plays
2:53pm Friday 13th April 2012 in Sport By Ky Capel
Bridport RESERVES 0 WINCANTON TOWN 2
STEVE Crabb felt his men deserved at least a point against high-flying Wincanton Town.
Bridport Reserves’ joint-manager was delighted with his side’s display at St Mary’s Field, despite seeing the visitors run out 2-0 winners.
And providing the Bees produce a similar effort at home to Holt United this afternoon (3pm), Crabb is confident of an upturn in fortunes.
He said: “Wincanton are a strong side but we were undone by two set-plays – a corner and a long throw.
“Apart from that we dominated the game and I was really pleased with the application of the lads. I was disappointed with the result but I was pleased with the performance.
“They are a top-four side but we dominated possession – we just lacked a cutting edge. Although we didn’t create a lot, with the possession we had we probably deserved to get a draw out of the game.”
Previewing today’s Magna Dorset Premier League en-counter, Crabb added: “If we have the same application as Thursday night we will win more games than we lose.”
Dan Peart and Jamie Mor-gan both suffered knocks in the defeat to Town and are therefore doubtful for this afternoon’s match.
Bees: Cleal, Lock, Day, Evans, Bulman, Cummings, McAllister, Peart (Steele 50), Condliffe, Morgan (Gale 55), Scovell (A Clarke 60).
