MRS Ethelston’s Primary School in Uplyme have repeated their 2011 form by winning, for the second consecutive year, the TAG Rugby Tournament organised by Wey Valley Sports Partnership in association with Bridport Rugby Club. A total of 19 teams entered the tournament with the final being played between Mrs Ethelston’s and Broadwindsor, in which the Uplyme school won 17-8.

Charmouth came third by beating Salway Ash in the third and fourth-place play-off.

Coach Malcolm Greenslade said: “I was delighted with the result. The children have worked really hard on drills, ball-handling skills and fitness levels, which really showed on the day.”

As a result of the win, Mrs Ethel-ston’s now go through to the Dorset Finals which will be held in Bourne-mouth on July 13 to coincide with the Olympic Torch Relay celebrations.
