Bridport Barracudas produced an incredible team performance to come out on top in the Novice B Gala at the Rossmore Leisure Centre in Poole.

Head coach Tina Dawe and team manager Tracy Clarke took 25 swimmers to the grand final and came away with not only the winners’ trophy but a total of 48 personal best times.

The top performance of the night came from Joe Boyer, who secured a 5.59-second pb on the breaststroke leg of the mixed medlay relay, but he was not the only one to excel.

Dawe said: “Historically we would always choose one boy and one girl to be named swimmer of the gala but this time the effort made by every single child was second to none. Every swimmer worked their socks off and they are all winners.”

Anybody wishing to find out more about swimming lessons or joining the Barracudas’ competitive swim team should contact the Bridport Leisure Centre on 01308 427464 or Dawe on 01308 427953.
