BRIDPORT boss Adam Fricker was delighted for Sam Clark as he grabbed his first two goals for the Bees in their 5-0 demolition of Warminster in the FA Vase second qualifying round.
Clark’s brace, alongside a Leighton Thomas double and a goal from Oscar Latas saw the Bees triumphant.
Fricker said: “I am absolutely delighted for him, at the end of the day he is a goalscorer and that is what they want to do, they want to score goals.
“Him getting a couple of goals will give him a massive lift that is for sure.”
Clark recently joined the Bees and came on for Chris McGrath after 30 minutes, as McGrath failed to shake off a tweaked hamstring.
Fricker said: “He has not played for about a year or so but he played for us a few seasons ago and he has also been at the likes of Western-super-Mare and stuff so he comes with good pedigree that is for sure.”
Soon after Clark coming on Bridport had a devastating spell of three goals in 10 minutes as they effectively wrapped up the tie by half-time.
After the break Clark added his two goals as Bridport ended up celebrating a fine 5-0 win.
Clark’s next chance to add to his tally will be on Saturday, when Bridport host Brislington in the Toolstation Western Premier Division (3pm).
