LULI Loveridge claimed victory in the National 138cm Championship Final on the last class of the day in Championship Arena 1 at the British Showjumping National Championships 2018.

Loveridge, 14, fended off 16 other riders to make the jump off and Loveridge, riding Arrow Head Quiver, won out when only two went clear.

The 23-year-old Dun gelding proved that he had experience on his side as he sped around the jump off and shot into the lead.

Double runner-up was Eloise Squibb with Thelmas Gift in second and Drumaclan Flight in third.

The results come off the back of a superb few weeks for Loveridge, seeing her claim two golds while riding for England, at the Irish and Welsh Internationals.

Loveridge, from Broadwinsor, said: “I’ve been riding him for about 18 months now and we have had some great wins. The course rode really well here today; my aim was definitely to go for time and he didn’t let me down.”

The British Showjumping National Championships offers a great family day of exciting competition, hospitality and afternoon tea offerings and a retail shopping village.

Entry for spectators wishing to take advantage of this show is free and parking is £5 per car.

Meanwhile, Loveridge’s sister Anouska also took a Champion title on Arrow Head Quiver in the 80cm Just for Schools Championship Final.

Loveridge rode as part of a school team along with two others they took their place on the podium as winners.

Loveridge also came third in the individual and took fourth in the individual in the 90cm Just for Schools Championship Final.
