LYME Regis manager Mark Bailey is not taking Saturday’s trip to Chard Town Reserves (3pm) lightly, despite beating them 6-0 the last time they met in Division One of the Devon & Exeter League back in September.

Both sides have been hit by the weather and Lyme have only played twice in the league this year, with Chard having played one more league game than them in that time.

Bailey said: “I am not feeling as confident as we could be from that result because their results are pretty up and down, to be honest. They are inconsistent so it is definitely not one to take lightly.

“If we play to our full potential again I would expect a win but they are a bit up and down so you never want to take these games for granted, that’s for sure.”

Bailey points towards them being a reserves side for this inconsistency, as he said: “It is one of those on their day I think they could beat most sides in the league but it is just whether you catch them cold or not.”

Following their latest postponement on Saturday the Seasiders had a team building session on Saturday and Bailey says the side are feeling fairly confident.

Bailey said: “They are just looking forward to getting back and relaxing and enjoying the football really.”

Declan Ellis is out for the season with cruciate ligament damage, Ben Turner is out suspended for two games, which Bailey said is a bit of a loss, but other than that the team are bordering on full strength.
