ANTHONY Honeyball is targeting Cheltenham for both Fountains Windfall and Ms Parfois following their victories on Saturday.

The RSA Chase is a possible objective for both, although the ground will have a big bearing on plans with Ms Parfois to be given an entry in the National Hunt Chase at the Festival.

The mare, who took the Listed Hampton Novices’ Chase at Warwick, is reliant on soft ground.

The Mosterton handler has the Reynoldstown Chase at Ascot next month in mind as a prep race for one or the other, with Fountains Windfall likely to go there instead if the going suited him better.

He bounced back to form with victory in a three-mile handicap chase at Kempton after falling in his two previous races.

“We want to make the most of his novice year. Hopefully we’ve got a Grade One horse and hopefully next November you’d be looking at races like the King George,” Honeyball told At The Races.

“It’s all talk at the moment, but we’ve got to make the most of his novice status.

“The RSA is plan A, to get him on the start line for that with a race like the Reynoldstown at Ascot, we’d love to run in that.

“If it turned up too soft there, we could end up back at Kempton in the Pendil, but that does get a bit tight for the RSA.

“We might have to think outside the box again and run outside of novice

company in a graduation chase or something like that if we were looking for another run. It’s very exciting.”

With two Listed chase wins, Honeyball feels Ms Parfois has to be considered for a step up in class.

“I had a chat with the owner on Sunday and said to him with a mare like that she’s got to be entered in the RSA,” he said.

“She is a bit ground dependent. I wouldn’t run her on ground quicker than good to soft - ideally, soft for her.

“She’ll be entered in the four-miler on the Tuesday and the RSA on the Wednesday. We’ll keep those options open.

“If she doesn’t get her ground, we’d have to think of other plans.

“If it was soft ground for the Reynoldstown, that would be the race for her. If it was a bit better ground, Fountains Windfall would run.

“That would be their trial day.”
