BRIDPORT A beat Pimperne Sports 5-3 at Blandford in their opening Dorset Senior League Division Three game of the new season.

The Bees had a much-changed squad due to many familiar first choice faces being unavailable.

And, on a very rough pitch that would never let their passing trademark football happen, struggled to get themselves going in the first half.

Bridport soon found themselves 1-0 down after 20 minutes.

Bridport did draw level thanks to a trademark Jake Rowland which made the score 1-1.

A few words were said at half time and consequently the Bees enjoyed a better second half.

The goals that won them the game were all crackers, two coming from Brandon Scadding and one apiece from Kieran Mcallister and James Cox, the latter a wonder finish after a fine cross from Scadding.

Despite a handsome margin of victory, this was far from a convincing result for the visitors who scored some fine goals but let themselves down at times with sloppy ball control and giving away needless free kicks.

One such set piece resulted in a brilliant goal for the home side giving the Bridport keeper no chance, but the visitors will take the three points back to Bridport knowing better is to come.

n The Stable's man-of-the-match with two goals and two assists is Brandon Scadding.
