BRIDPORT boss Adam Fricker has urged the Bees not to get “complacent” when they entertain Keynsham Town in the Les Phillips Cup preliminary round at St Mary’s Field on Saturday (3pm).

Western League Division One side Keynsham ply their trade one league below Fricker’s men but he is wary of taking the game for granted.

He told the Bridport News: “It’s important that we don’t get complacent. We’ll approach it the same as we did (in the FA Cup) on Saturday.

“Keynsham will look to play good football, but as long as we do what we can do we should be progressing, but we’re certainly not taking it for granted.

“It’s not something we’re looking to rest a few players for. We’ll be looking to utilise the squad. It will give us an opportunity to use the squad again and not rest anyone unnecessarily.

“Providing from our perspective we can keep everyone fit and healthy it helps me and Paddy because it gives the players as many games as possible.

And Fricker is wary of facing a fixture pile-up in the league due to the various cup competitions scheduled in August.

He said: “We don’t want to fall too far behind in the league. I don’t think we’re capable of finishing in the top two of the league. For us, top 10 would be great from where we were last season.

“We have got the FA Vase coming up fast as well, but most of the teams around us are in the same boat and I understand we haven’t really fallen too far behind.”

Leigh Bailey and Kameron Andrews will return for the match.
