LYME Regis go into this weekend looking to get back to winning ways in their home match against Colyton (3pm kick off).

The Seasiders have now had two weekends off in a row after their match fell victim to the weather once again, but manager Robin Townsend is certainly seeing the silver lining.

He said: “I think everyone knew the game was going to be called off. It’s just one of those things and in hindsight I think it might have worked to our advantage because we wouldn’t have been at our strongest.

“It may well have been a blessing in disguise.”

Saturday’s match will Colyton is a huge match for Lyme as they look to move towards a promotion spot, and Townsend says his team are feeling confident.

He said: “It’s a big local derby and we look like we’ll be back at full strength.

“We realise now we probably have to win 90 percent of our games to get promoted so every game is a cup final from now.

“I imagine the boys are confident, we’ve been working on our fitness levels so we if we play to our strengths I think we’ll be fine, but we’ve got to get back to winning ways.”

The weekend off has given Townsend a pleasant issue as he has a fully fit squad to choose from.

He said: “Darren Lock is going to be available again. Since he came from Bridport he’s transformed our side. He’s a really big player so I’m glad to have him back.

“Cody Bowditch has been struggling with injuries. He’s only 16 and has played a lot of games so it was nice to give him a rest and hopefully get him back to his flying best this weekend.

“I’ve got 20 available players and I can only play 11 which means some will be playing for the reserves. It’s a great problem to have.”

After Saturday’s game, Lyme Regis will also be hosting an evening with Chelsea legend Ron Harris. The evening will start at 7.30pm with tickets being priced at £10.
