A MARTIAL arts school is seeking three new students.

Ichinen Bridport is the longest established professional club where you can learn and train the traditional way of the warrior.

At present, head teacher Grandmaster Horst Lindenau, who is German born, but has lived in Bridport for 62 years, offers three new places for students who want to this extra mile this year.

Students can be any age upwards from 14 years.

Lindenau said: "The class provides all of the components of fitness.

"That includes cardio, strength, flexibility, and functional movement. You burn fat and build muscle.

"The training actually incorporates your whole body. You are taught how to use your whole body from head to toe in all directions.

It is a hobby that can last a lifetime. The martial arts have many lifelong followers who continue to train throughout their lives.

"Strictly speaking, martial arts training may not be physical therapy, but it will definitely help you to balance relaxation with tension, and incorporate proper breathing.

"It can preserve long-term health. Fitness is more than just getting in shape for the summer. It is a life long journey that requires smart programming and healthy practices with your future in mind.

"With the martial arts, you can be fully confident that it has the tools necessary for short term improvement and long term health."

Classes are held several times the week. Best to start is Thursdays at 7pm in Bridport at the British Legion hall.

You can book your two taster sessions by phone (07968235486) or via the webpage (ichinenbridport.com).
