BRIDPORT manager Adam Fricker is preparing his side to deal with a backlash from Odd Down when they travel to the Lew Hill Memorial Ground on Saturday (3pm).

The Bees produced a shock 5-1 win over this weekend’s opposition when the sides met in the Les Phillips Cup back in October, with goals coming from Ed Butcher and Mark Salter on that occasion.

And manager Fricker has it on good authority that Odd Down are after revenge.

He said: “I used to play with their manager at Frome and I know him quite well. He has already informed me that they will be looking to put one over on us!

“We beat them 5-1 in the Les Phillips Cup at their place, so I think they are going to be fired up and they are going to be looking for revenge.”

He added: “We have to get at them as much as we can. We know they like to go from back to front as quickly as possible and miss out the midfield.

“If we can get something out of it we would be delighted but we are certainly confident because we know we have done it before against them. There is no reason why we can’t do it again.”

Bridport frontman Salter is still a doubt with a back problem and is to be assessed ahead of the contest, as is Ryan Hayter with an ankle injury.

Fricker is hoping Braeden Symes will be fit after sustaining a neck injury in the 2-1 defeat to Shepton Mallet last time out.

Louis Rutter is suspended and Dan Peach misses out through work commitments.

Striker Elliot Mann is set to return to the squad.
