BEES’ chief Adam Fricker is hoping his side can provide him with the late Christmas present of three points on Monday, as they make the trip to Street on Boxing Day (12pm).

The Bridport boss, who took over as manager in the summer, will step into the dugout for the first time in the festive fixture as part of the Bees’ set-up.

And he admits it’s a day on the calendar he always looks forward to.

“I always liked playing on Boxing Day and with managing it’s no different. We are looking forward to it,” he said.

“It should be a good day but a tough game as well. They are third in the league and they are a very good attacking side.

“We will be approaching it like we do every game and will be setting ourselves up to get at them.

“We are hoping that we can possibly get at them at the back and hopefully cause them a few problems.”

Despite not yet locking horns with Street this season, Fricker knows a good deal about them heading into the clash.

“I know a few of their players. Craig Herrod is a very good player who I have played with.

“I saw Josh Wadham play last season and Lewis Waldy in central midfield also played for us at Chard last season, so we are certainly not going into it blind.

“Salts (Mark Salter) obviously used to play for them at the start of last season as well so we are well aware of what their threats are.

There are no new injury concerns for the Bridport ahead of the encounter with Elliot Mann and Adam Barrett set to return early in the New Year.

James Regan will be unavailable for the clash but Leigh Bailey is set to return to the squad.
