BRIDPORT 78

BRIDPORT piled on the points in a comprehensive victory over North Dorset Thirds.

The Blues started the contest with two tries from Ricky Stubbs, who was to run riot throughout the afternoon or the Blues.

After his early scores, Bridport were soon back into the Dorset half and Mitch Waters drove through off the back of line-out to score from 15 metres, allowing Rory Greening to put on another two points for the conversion.

Again from the restart, the Blues still had control of the game. From a turnover ball in the ruck Gareth Thomson was able to move the ball out to Stubbs on the halfway line to put the ball down between the posts for another converted try.

Nathan Herbert then touched down soon after as the Blues were in complete control at the break

Bridport knew that North Dorset would come back at them after the interval but Stubbs’ superb afternoon continued. His kick allowed Dave Cutting to get under the ball and go over the line for another try.

Greening was unlucky to catch a knock to the head and had to come off but, with Bridport keeping the pressure on, it was not long before Stubbs was over the line again – Waters then took up kicking duties to con- vert.

For the first time Bridport had to deal with a short burst of pressure from the hosts but Daragh McLoughlin came away from a breakdown to score under the posts for the Blues again and convert his own try.

Richard Pearce scored again for the away side and Waters duly converted with an excellent kick from the side line. Herbert also added another score which he converted.

McLoughlin sealed another try before the game was then finished in style.

Straight from the restart, Pearce outpaced most of the North Dorset players and made a quick pass out to Stubbs for another try as the Blues celebrated a convincing bonus-point win.
