BRIDPORT RESERVES 3

DORCHESTER SPORTS 0

A HAT-TRICK from Gary Bulman saw Bridport Reserves beat Dorchester Sports 3-0 at St Mary’s Field, a display that manager Shaun Annetts described as “one of the best performances” he had seen as manager of the side.

Despite this, the Bees didn’t break the deadlock until the hour mark as Bulman netted Alan Hill’s cross.

He added his second 10 minutes later before completing his hat-trick with a deft chip in the 77th minute.

Speaking after the game, Annetts told Echosport: “We brought in a few players from the first team and the whole side gave an incredible performance.

“Kieran Park was excellent in goal, we bossed the midfield and we were a threat out wide.

“It was a real pleasure to watch and it’s one of the best performances I’ve seen as manager.”

The sides went into the interval goalless after the hosts had dominated proceedings. Bridport were struggling to find that bit of quality to take the lead, but up stepped Bulman to take the game away from the county town side.

His opener came with 30 minutes remaining after good work from Hill, who was one of those that has played in the first team this season, on the right wing.

His second was a crisp right foot finish before he rounded off the scoring with the pick of the bunch for the hosts. He found some space on the edge of the area and spotting that Sports’ substitute keeper – an outfield player – was out of position, and produced a wonderful chip to seal the win for the Bees.

Annetts added: “He did that with Adam Fricker watching and he knows Gary can do a great job for the team.”

Bees: Park, Hill, Baggs, King, Peart, T Gale, Blair (Weedon 70), Ward, S Gale (Walkey 45), Bulman, Evans (Hunter 60).
