LYME Regis boss Rob Thom was unhappy with his side after they were beaten 4-0 at Dawlish United in the FRESHA Devon & Exeter League Division Two on bank holiday Monday.

Trailing 1-0 at half-time, the Seasiders went in search of an equaliser, but Dawlish caught them on the break twice in two minutes as they succumbed to their first loss in 10 games in the four-goal loss.

After the game, Thom said he felt his players did not get up for the away clash.

He said: “We were dismal. We didn’t get up for the game and even in the second half and it was just one of those days for us.

“We had key players out and it showed.

However, there was better news from two days before as the Seasiders thrashed Hemyock 4-1 at the Davey Fort.

The hosts took a three-goal lead into half-time thanks to a brace from Julian Simier and a Rob Fellingham penalty.

Joe Bond added a fourth after the visitors had pulled a goal back through some sloppy defending.

However, the manager was still far from pleased with his charges.

“The performance was lacklustre. We went 2-0 up very quickly but we couldn’t get out of second gear.

“We came down to their level and in the second half we were coasting.”

Lyme Regis also saw many results go their way in the league as they remained in second spot after the weekend’s fixtures.
