SIR John Colfox's under-15 girls' volleyball team collected bronze medals after competing in a gruelling four-hour tournament at the Dorset School Games.
Their well-deserved awards at the county finals came after some incredible battling with four other top teams.
After consistent serving by Maisie Kitton and some incredibly strong attacking play by Rhiannon Parker, Ella Kershaw, Amy Lambert and India Morgan, the girls finished the pool in second position, losing by only two points to Ferndown, the eventual winners.
Having beaten Parkstone Grammar in an earlier round, the Colfox team lost momentum with the final score in the semi-final 21-16 to Parkstone.
The under-15 boys' team started positively with some very accurate setting from Luke Robertson and strong hitting from George Wyril.
Great teamwork and, on occasion, brilliant blocking wasn’t enough to defeat the very strong play from some of the other five teams.
The standard of play in both the girls and boys' tournaments was excellent with players in the Bournemouth area really benefitting from the indoor facilities at the LeAF Academy.
Girls team: Amy Lambert, Ella Kershaw, Rhiannon Parker, India Morgan, Maisie Kitton
Boys: Sam Huxter, George Wyril, Luke Robertson, Henry Knight
