HARRY Fry was delighted to see four-year-old Chalonnial secure success at Wincanton and labelled him as an “exciting young horse”.
The four-year-old looked strong while claiming the bigcasinobonuses.co.uk Standard Open NH Flat Race by five lengths from Crank Em Up.
Chalonnial went off at 5-2 with Noel Fehily on board and Seaborough trainer Fry was happy to see some promising signs.
He told his official website: “Chalonnial made the perfect start to his racing career with an impressive winning debut in the bumper at Wincanton.
“It was the first time he has ever set foot on grass so he was understandably green through the race before finishing so strongly Noel Fehily had a job to pull him up after passing the winning line.
“It looked as though he was only getting going at the finish which is always a good sign.”
Fry added: “We bought Chalonnial two years ago in France. He has always been a lovely, attractive big horse and as he is a half-brother to Activial we hope and believe he will enhance his family’s reputation.
“We have been patient with this exciting young horse who should have bags of improvement to come as he develops and gets bigger and stronger.”
