SIR John Colfox Academy played host to the third and final West Dorset Area Cross Country League race.

Colfox’s Year Seven girls have got better and better with each race and the team ended up finishing in fourth place overall after starting in sixth spot after race one.

May Cornwell has been the stand-out performer and deserved her third place position in the overall individual rankings.

St Osmund’s took first place overall as their athlete Emily Pitman took the individual title.

The hosts’ Year Seven boys’ team has been in outstanding form so far this season and they ended up winning the league and winning all three races.

In the final race, Colfox finished first, second, third and fourth.

In the individual rankings, Mannie Wellman and Jake Childs shared third place, Tom Kilcoyne scooped second and the sensational Finley Cauldwell earned top spot after winning every race.

The Colfox junior girls are a strong team and have, just like last year, gone through the league series undefeated.

The B team finished as runners-up demonstrating the strength in depth of that year group.

Dulice Gatehouse was third in the individual rankings with Olivia Willmore finishing in second place.

Individuals: Maddy Johnson – DTHS, Olivia Willmore – Colfox, Dulcie Gatehouse – Colfox.

Team: 1 Colfox A, 2 Colfox B, 3 Woodroffe.

The junior boys have also had a great start, winning all three races and having six in the top 10 in the final race. The B team were third overall showing strength in depth again. Nat Wormleighton was the third place individual with Manny Cox securing second place.

Individual: 1 Ryan Purse, 2 Manny Cox, 3 Nat Wormleighton.

Teams: 1 Colfox A, 2 Woodroffe, 3 Colfox B.

The Inter Boys have the strongest squad Colfox has ever had and the depth of talent is quite incredible.

After reaching the Southern England finals, the group always expected to do well in the area league and they did not disappoint, going through undefeated.

The final race witnessed an incredible sprint finish between Tom Crabtree and Dan Elliott.

Individual: 1 Oliver Caute – Woodroffe, 2 Tom Crabtree – Colfox, 3 Dan Elliott – Colfox.

Teams: 1 Colfox, 2 Woodroffe, 3 Colfox B.

A real surprise was the Inter Girls' section as the Colfox team went through all three of their races undefeated and Olivia Symes finished second overall and Sydney March third.

Team: 1 Colfox, 2 Beaminster, 3 Woodroffe.

Individual: 1 Somer Horsfield – Woodroffe, 2 Olivia Symes – Colfox, 3 Syd March – Colfox.
