AFTER a run of nine matches without a league win, Bridport will fancy their chances of three points when they host Bishop Sutton tomorrow (3pm).

Boss Trevor Senior saw his side capitulate at St Mary’s Field last time out, as three goals in the latter stages against high-flying Bradford Town saw them slump to another defeat.

But even though they have only won once this year, you have to go all the way back to November 26 for Bishop Sutton’s previous Toolstation Western League Premier Division success.

Since then the Somerset outfit have lost 15 successive matches and conceded 91 goals. Unsurprisingly they sit rock bottom of the table with only 14 points and a goal difference of -95.

Senior wasn’t too unhappy with the way his side played against Bradford, particularly in the first half.

They looked good for at least a draw before three goals in the final seven minutes saw the visitors leave with the spoils.

“We haven’t been playing badly,” said Senior. “It’s just a case of getting that first goal.

“It’s going to be a battle of two out of form teams against Bishop Sutton.

“Hopefully we can get the three points and things will turn around for us.

“There is no pressure on us now as we can’t go down, so we’ll be looking to get that elusive win.

“But they have got nothing to lose either.”

The game will be the last for Jamie Filkins before he goes travelling for three months.

Sean Stewart took a knock to the calf against Bradford but Senior expects him to be fit.

And the Bridport chief is also boosted by the return to the squad of Alan Hill and Chris Senior, who both missed last weekend’s defeat.

While Bishop Sutton are facing next season in Division One, Bridport are still waiting for just their second success of 2015.

Their last win in any competition was against Sherborne Town on January 10.

Since then they have picked up three points from a possible 27 and not won in nine league outings.

However, they can take heart from a 5-2 victory over Bishop Sutton way back in August, and if they do secure the three points tomorrow they will complete a third league double of the season, the others coming against Sherborne and Winterbourne United.

The Bees’ recent poor form has seen them drop to 15th in the table with just half a dozen games remaining.
