BRIDPORT will be without a number of key players for their clash with Longwell Green Sports at St Mary’s Field (3pm), with a sacred occasion wiping out the nucleus of Trevor Senior’s squad.

Midfielder Dan Wise, a popular member of the Bees’ set-up, will be getting married on Saturday with a whole host of Senior’s troops attending the ceremony.

Chris Senior, Shane Evans, Ryan Hayter and Chris Clarke along with Wise will all be unavailable. Striker Tom Richardson is also away and Matt Morley and Ryan Dovell are both carrying injuries leaving them as fitness doubts.

However, Sean Stew-art is set to return to Senior’s squad.

The Bridport boss said: “We are really stretched this weekend because Dan Wise is getting married and five of the squad are at the wedding, and there is a different wedding for one of the reserve squad as well, it’s going to be a real test of character.

“They are all committed lads and it’s just something that happens at the level we play at.

“We have known about it for a while but it’s just a case of doing what we can this weekend.

“It will still be a strong starting team, there will just not be a lot of back up.

“I am going to try and get a couple of signings in before the weekend as well.

A win for the Bees would give them their fourth league triumph at St Mary’s Field this season.

Senior was dumbfounded by the fact Hallen managed to keep a clean sheet and snatch a 1-0 win against his side at the Hallen Centre last Saturday.

After Matt Morley hit a 25-yard shot that was well saved by the home goalkeeper in the second-half, hosts Hallen were awarded a dubious free-kick within shooting range.

The resulting strike took a deflection which wrong-footed Ashley Weeks in the Bees’ goal and condemned Senior’s men to a defeat, currently leaving them eighth in the league standings with 13 points.

Bees: Weeks, Condliffe, Morley, Clarke, C Senior, Ry Hayter, J Filkins, Wise (A Symes 73), Richardson (Rh Hayter 65), Byerley, J Symes (Evans 54).
