MEMBERS had an away match versus Windwhistle, so consequently the Thursday competition was a self-entry, single division Stableford and there were 51 entrants.

There was heavy cloud all around the course and a brisk breeze that couldn’t seem to make its mind up which way to blow so conditions were a little tricky.

However, this didn’t seem to affect the scoring to any great degree and, while no one managed 40 points, there were a number of scores in the high 30s.

Chris Roberts was the winner with 38 points, two points clear of runner-up John Laramy. Mike McGrady took third after countback and he achieved a gross eagle on the par five third.
