SEATON Tennis Club’s Emma Hurst has been crowned as one half of the new British under-18s girls’ doubles champions, with her partner Joely Lomas from Swansea.
The duo progressed smoothly to the semi-finals, where they performed convincingly against number one seeds Jasmine Amber-Asghar and Ellie Rose-Griffiths to win 6-4 7-5.
The girls then went on to take the title 7-6 6-4 in a very close, competitive final against Ella Monsey (Suffolk) and Madeleine Brooks (Norfolk).
Coached by Derek Blackmore, Hurst is said to be very excited about having her name engraved on a national trophy alongside famous names such as Virginia Wade and Sue Barker.
