GEOFF Smith and Mark Riley were the winners of Bridport Tennis Club’s Veterans’ Tournament.
Alan Colville and Christine Simmons won the plate competition at an event that had been cancelled on two previous occasions.
Sixteen players, 13 men and three women, were divided into two groups, with four pairs playing three matches to determine the semi-finalists.
In the semis of the main tournament, Huw Rees and Riley beat Brian Johnson and Astrid Gessert 6-2.
Richard Chadney and Smith played Julian Jones and John Crawford in the other semi, with Smith and Jones the pair going through.
The final was decided by a seven-point tie-break which was won by Smith and Riley.
The plate final saw Colville and Jip Newell meet Simmons and Tony Dodds.
Colville and Simmons won this 5-3 and were rewarded with a bottle of wine.
