ANGLING: Parkman's on song to claim Chesil Championships
GUS Parkman secured the top prize in West Bay Sea Angling Club’s Chesil Championships, finishing in front of more than 60 other anglers.
The fishing proved to be good for half the competitors with Bexington producing plenty of dogfish and a few smoot- hounds.
And, after six hours fishing it was Parkman who claimed victory and scooped the £225 cash prize, the £150 pool and a rod.
He was closely followed by Paul House in second and Terry Hartnell in third.
Three ladies battled it out for their prize of £50 with Lynn Mudford winning with two dogfish.
From the four juniors competing on the day, Connor Hallett surged to victory, giving him a tackle voucher plus new fishing reels.
There was also £62 up for grabs for each of the heaviest round fish and flatfish pools.
M Ayles scooper the heaviest round fish pool with a 3,735g small-eyed ray, while the heaviest flatfish pool went to L Downton, with a 115g dab.
