STUDENTS from the Matt Fiddes Martial Arts School in Bridport are celebrating yet more top performances.

They picked up four medals from the biggest Matt Fiddes Southern Championships to date, with this year’s event taking place in Swindon.

Youngsters from the Bridport area were among a record number of competitors that displayed their skills in front of a sell out crowd.

School owner and instructor, Lucy Fear, said: “The championship team, known as ‘Team Fear’, are always so dedicated and passionate about the championships.

“They conducted themselves with so much pride for their school and team, I simply couldn’t ask for anymore.

“I’m super proud of them as it takes courage to put yourself in front of the judges – the whole team are winners in my eyes.”

Special congratulations go to Aiden Cooper from the junior class who won silver in the 10-12yrs sparring category, and Lois Copeland and Alex Adams who were both medal winners in the ladies’ kickboxing class.

Copeland won bronze in the forms category and silver in sparring, while Adams claimed gold in sparring.

The students can’t wait to extend their medal tally at the British Championships later in the year.

If you would like your child to get involved and take advantage of an award-winning life skills programme, a free trial for children over five years of age and women is being offered.

Classes are run at Sir John Colfox School in Bridport and for further information call Lucy Fear on 07885412184 or get in touch via @lucyfear10 on Twitter to book.
