BEAMINSTER have won the Netherbury Challenge Cup.
Each year, four clubs take part in a one-day competition for the cup and teams competing this year were Beaminster, Netherbury, South Perrott and Toller Porcorum.
This year the competition was hosted by Beaminster and took place in the public hall.
Each club had two teams of three. Triples were played, with each player having two woods. Scoring was on a shot difference basis, meaning that if the score at the end of a game was 4-1, then one team scored plus three and the other minus three.
After some very competitive play and enjoyable games, the winners of the cup were the Beaminster team of Jack Bradley, Monica Hammond, Karen Ellis, Neil Hammond, Frank Smith and Don Love, with the age range of the side spanning some 60 years.
After the match, the players and supporters enjoyed an meal, cooked and served by Margaret Trevett.
