ROGER Clark has been named as Bridport’s new head coach.

Clark had been supporting Krissie Washington in the role, but she now feels she needs to take a step back due to personal reasons.

Club spokesman John McHugh explains: “Roger has been with us for some months working with Krissie Washington, but personal matters mean that Krissie is not available for one of the two weekly training sessions and feels she should stand back, but not stand down.

“Roger has been coaching in the region for more than 21 years.”

The ex-hooker has been very impressed with Bridport’s up-and-coming young players who are showing commitment and an eagerness to learn more about the game.
