BRIDPORT v BRISLINGTON

TREVOR Senior will be hoping for a change of fortunes tonight when his Bees take on Brislington at St Mary’s Field (7.45pm).

Bridport have picked up just one win from their last 10 in all competitions and desperately need to turn the tide this month if they want to stand any chance of challenging for a top-half finish.

The Bees currently sit 12th in the Toolstation Western Premier Division but have played more games than most of the teams around them.

Bridport boss Senior told Echosport: “We have only picked up one point from the last 15 available but we have played four of the top-five sides in that time, while the other one was a local derby at Sherborne, so we have certainly had some tough games of late.

“Brislington haven’t played since December 28 so they are going to be champing at the bit tonight but we have a strong squad available and hopefully we can pick up the three points.

“They had a good FA Cup run this year and are always quite a strong side but there is no reason why we cannot beat them.”

Brislington lie 11th in the table, level on points with the Bees but with five games in hand.

They also beat the West Dorset outfit 2-1 earlier in the season thanks to two late goals.

Senior added: “We have got 15 games left and we do not want to get dragged into a relegation fight.

“This month we are playing a lot of the teams around us, so it is very important we pick up some points.”

Ashley Staines is back in contention for the Bees but Chris Senior remains unavailable due to work commitments.

Portland United keeper Ashley Weeks will again deputise for Sam Filkins between the posts.

Bridport’s game at Slimbridge was postponed at the weekend but club officials are very hopeful this evening’s clash will get the green light.

Bees: Weeks, J Filkins, C Clarke, Evans, Watts, Hayter, Luke, G Bulman, Wise, Morley, Richardson, Dovell, Condliffe, M Buckler, Staines.
