TWO junior members of Bridport Spirit Combat travelled to Hersham in Surrey for the Winter Spirit Combat International Advanced Gradings.

The grading team was headed by grandmaster Brian Dossett, 10th degree black belt, who was recently enrolled into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame.

After being put through their paces for three hours, George Beard was awarded his junior brown belt and Timothy Boulter gained his junior blue belt.

Club instructor Steve Reynolds, 4th degree black belt, said: “It was a good day, albeit a long one.

“The standards were very high and the two lads did themselves and their parents proud.”

In the club gradings at the Sea Scout Hut on St Swithins Road, Elena Hawkins was awarded a red belt.

Jake Hawker and Pheonix Viney earned their yellow belts, Casey Sanderson collected an orange belt while George Boulter earned a green belt.
