REPRESENTATIVES from both of Bridport & West Dorset’s 2013 captain’s charities, Dorset Blind Association and Wessex Heartbeat, have been presented with cheques for the money raised during the year.

Club captain Martin Drennan and his lady counterpart Di Loving were delighted with the generosity of club members, visitors and local businesses alike, who had donated in various ways throughout the year.

The total amount raised was £5,372.

The veterans enjoyed their Christmas three-man Texas Scramble suitably attired for the festive season.

The game was keenly contested with the clear winners, with a nett score of 62.3, were club captain Phil Dowell and his team of Mike Stockton and Gerald Allum.

Second were P Marshall, J Pitchford and T Garrett (nett 65.7) and, in third, was D Inglesent, B Fearon and N Vincent.

The ladies played a Stableford Chicken Chase.

It was very cold and overcast and this was reflected in many of the scores.

Well done to Sue Walsh who had the winning score of 33 points. Second was Sylvia Frampton (31pts) and Rosemary Shepperd was third (29pts).

Meanwhile, the men’s Stableford was played in very, very windy conditions.
