BRIDPORT vice-chairman Allan Staerck has organised CPD coaching workshops at the club.
Staffed by Nevil Jeffery, one of the RFU’s lead coach educators, and supported by Dorset & Wilts RFU, the workshop was aimed at coaches at all levels to encourage the development of rugby union skills, through conditioning games rather than just drill-based practice.
Sixteen club coaches and assistant coaches from both junior and senior levels of the club attended the sessions, where the Blues’ under-16s were used for the practical element of the workshop.
A range of continuous personal development (CPD) short courses are available to further develop coaching expertise.
These CPD courses help to develop coaches’ knowledge and application of technical, tactical, physiological, psychological and lifestyle factors that affect a player’s performance.
