ON TARGET: Ben Eve and Jenny Stazicker with GB Olympic team coach Lloyd Brown
TWO Bride Valley archers have been invited to attend part of a performance coaching course at Lilleshall National Sports Centre in Shropshire.
Ben Eve and Jenny Stazicker both received individual coaching and assessment from Lloyd Brown, the British Olympic team coach, who was very impressed with their ability.
There was also much positive feedback from numerous performance coaches observing the sessions. Both are on the National Talent Development programme and have followed a training programme of skills and drills, strength and conditioning work and focus on good shooting form.
Brown has outlined an optimal shooting technique to potentially get archers to world class levels.
Bride Valley Archers now focus on factors including stance, posture, alignment and correct muscle use and shot execution in working towards this technique.
Another club member, Reuben Kingston has been invited to a Performance Academy training camp at Lilleshall on March 23-24.
This will also be a selection event for the Junior Europa Cup in Slovenia in May.
One of Brown’s plans is for many clubs to have performance sections.
Bride Valley is hoping to shortly become only the second club nationally to achieve this Performance Specialism.
The club is already one of only two to achieve the Young People Specialism.
