Julian’s joy in winning February medal

JULIAN Green took the spoils in the Bridport and West Dorset Golf February Medal with a superb score of nett 68 in testing conditions, writes Peter Crowter.
The Division One man held off competition from Graham Blunden, who took second on countback with a nett 71. Gary Edwards also tamed the wet course to take third.
Of the 82 players who took to the course, it was Division Two’s Kieran Mulhall who carded the best score of the day, shooting a brilliant nett 64 to win by eight shots from Brian Savery and Mike Barter, with Savery taking second on countback. Rod Condliffe shot a nett 66 to lead Division Three after countback from Michael Thompson, with Don McAll-ister claiming third with a nett 68.
The veterans’ Stableford competition was played in strong winds, but Division One’s Ian Perry overcame the conditions to score a very respectable 37 points – the best of the 46 entrants. Jan Palthe took second with 36, while Keith Delves’ 33 points won him the Division Two tussle by one point from Dave Northover.
