Bride Valley hot-shots

FIVE members of Bride Valley Archers competed in the Bournemouth Indoor Tournament, shooting a Portsmouth round (60 arrows at 20 yards on a 60cm face).

First places were achieved by Daniel Wilkinson (under-12 barebow), George Larcombe (under-14 barebow), Reuben Kingston (under-14 recurve) and Martha Sitwell (under-16 longbow) and second place by Jenny Stazicker (under-14 recurve).

On the same day, Ben Eve shot at the Mere Archers Tournament in Wincanton, winning the under-16 recurve section.

The club was also very successful in the November Challenge, a postal competition run by Archery GB for all juniors in the country.

Longbow results were especially pleasing with first places for Martha Sitwell (under-16) and Jade Cullingford (under-12) and second places for Hannah Corfield (under-16) and Jason Larcombe (under-16).

Reuben Kingston was second (out of 58) in the under-12 recurve.

The club’s next event is the Dorset and Wilts Indoor Championships at Salisbury in March.
