The Electric Palace has teamed up with the Bridport & Lyme Regis News to offer readers the chance to visit the cinema for free.

The newly restored Electric Palace in Bridport now has one of the most beautiful cinema interiors in the country. It is certainly one of the most unusual and exciting.

The brasserie restaurant situated in what was the entrance foyer is a delightful place to meet for lunch or dinner. The walls are covered with the subtle colours of the 1926 murals of George Biles and the whole restaurant is elegant and charming. The food is superb and the service excellent. The chef/proprietor Gideon worked for some years with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall at River Cottage and his delicious food uses only the best and freshest ingredients.

Inside the cinema auditorium the walls are alive with exuberant murals themed upon the spirit of entertainment, reflecting the Electric Palace's commitment to eating, drinking and making merry. The auditorium bar encourages you to have a glass of wine or a beer during the show or to linger with friends after a film and socialize.

The venue shows a wide choice of films programmed by the I.C.O. ranging from blockbusters and children's films to obscure art house and classic movies. On stage we have a programme of music, theatre and cabaret. The predictable is rarely to be seen here as we strive for an interesting and thought provoking programme of events.

To take part in this offer simply fill in the voucher in your copy of the Bridport & Lyme Regis News on Thursday 5 July and present it at the Electric Palace box office.
